Kami, warga Seminari, tidak melewatkan begitu saja hari raya proklamasi kemerdekaan RI. Hari Sabtu, 16 Agustus 2008 sore, para siswa mendapat ceramah dari Bpk. Dr. Tukiman Taruna Sayoga, mantan Pamong Umum, dengan tema : "Menggali karakter para pahlawan". Mengakhiri ceramahnya, Bpk. Tukiman yang datang didampingi oleh isteri dan anaknya, mengutip 2 ungkapan dalam bahasa Latin sebagai pesan bagi para seminaris: "Non multa sed multum", dan "Nemo dat quod non habet".Pada malam harinya perwakilan siswa ikut tirakatan di RW.VIII Pandansari, bertempat di sebelah timur lapangan.
